Reduction Rhinoplasty Female
This is a patient with an overprojected nose and dorsal hump. she sought a natural contour and less prominence of her nose. In addition, she had collapse of her external valve.
Dr. Shah utilized an external approach. many surgeons mistakenly shorten the septum in an effort to reduce projection. this leads to unpredictable results and unnatural contours. Dr. Shah actually extended the septum to place the tip and nasolabial angle in the exact position he had predetermined with the patient. In addition, he repositioned the lower lateral cartilages to a better position along the nose and fortified them with cartilaginous support. this maneuver is expertly performed by a handful of surgeons in the world. it is useful in patients with cephallically positioned cartilages.
This patient required 7 cartilage grafts and 3 advanced rhinoplasty maneuvers.
Her nose is still quite swollen at 4 weeks but some early contour improvement is evident.
