Virtual Consultations are conducted prior to the patient’s arrival in Chicago so that each patient is informed of expectations and preparations for surgery in advance. In addition, Dr. Shah does follow-ups via video chat or phone so that out of town patients can limit the number of return trips to the United States.

I don’t live in Chicago, is it difficult to travel there?
Chicago is a central travel hub in the United States, with airports conveniently located near downtown, accessible by cab or public transportation. The office can help arrange travel details, including hotels, extended suites, nursing or medical assistants, and stocking food and supplies.
After my procedure, how long will I be required to stay in the States?
For a rhinoplasty procedure, a one-week stay in the States is required. Most surgeries require a one-week to 10-day stay in Chicago. Patients receiving fillers, botox, jaw reduction, or interdermal botox can return home immediately.
Will Dr. Shah’s office arrange for housing?

Will I have to see Dr. Shah again after surgery?
This depends on the procedure. Dr. Shah uses digital follow-ups for distant patients, involving a series of pictures during recovery and discussions about the healing process.
How much recovery time will I need?
Most procedures require a one-week recovery time in the Chicago area.
Do I need medical clearance from my doctor?
Any medical problems should be evaluated by a primary care physician with a medical clearance letter. Lab work can be arranged on the same day of the procedure at no charge.
