Lip enhancement is a common area where patients seek the use of facial fillers. The first thing most patients say out of there mouths is “I don’t want to look like I have…” You can insert your favorite word which includes sausage lips, duck lips, fake lips, and then insert any number of Hollywood actresses with over augmentation of their lips.
Why is something as seemingly simple as lip enhancement seem so difficult? The reason behind this is that the lip is a very complex three dimensional structure which needs to maintain softness and balance.
When I augment lips I often relate the lips I design to a fashion designer. Armani lips are where the lips are enhanced in a subtle, elegant fashion. Versace lips are a little more in your face and flamboyant, yet still natural. Most patients are seeking Armani Lips, while a few are able to wear that bolder pattern of Versace and look amazing. Just make sure that your lip injector is not giving you K-Mart Lips or Wal-mart Lips.
